Standing on the Bridge - Successfully Crowdfunded
Successfully crowdfunding a film is never just about raising money—it’s about building a community around a story. The short film 'Standing on the Bridge' achieved exactly that, bringing together supporters who believed in the importance of telling a powerful and often overlooked story. The campaign attracted 133 supporters and raised more than £19,000, providing the resources needed to move the project into production and helping ensure the film can be completed to a professional standard. 'Standing on the Bridge' explores the difficult and often taboo subject of male domestic abuse, using drama to highlight a social issue that rarely receives the attention it deserves. Inspired by real-life experiences and supported by the UK charity The ManKind Initiative, the film aims to spark discussion and raise awareness through a compelling narrative. The crowdfunded budget will support every stage of production—from locations and equipment to post-production—helping the team create a film capable of reaching audiences on the festival circuit. Reflecting on the campaign’s success, Director / Producer Steve Johnson expressed heartfelt gratitude to those who helped make it possible: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and supported the campaign. Your generosity and belief in this story have helped turn an idea into a film, and we simply couldn’t have done it without you.” With the backing of its supporters, 'Standing on the Bridge' now moves forward with a strong foundation and a passionate community behind it.
