The Fartist - 48 Hour Film Project Glasgow 2024

Futuristfilm is proud to announce that it's short film "The Fartist", which was made for the 48 Hour Short Film Project in Glasgow this October placed 2nd in the overall Glasgow competition out of 65 teams, whilst also picking up Best Actress for Kirsty Strain and a further 8 Nominations.

  • "The Fartist" was made within 48-hours over the weekend of 13-15th October 2024 in Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland and was submitted on time for the competition. The 48-hour Film Project is held all over the world where groups of filmmakers are given 48 hours to make a 4-7 minute short film. Each team draws a genre and every team is given the same three required elements that they have to include in their film. For Glasgow 2024, these required elements where:

  • Character = Christine or Chris Murray, Architect
  • Prop = A toilet brush
  • Line of dialogue = "Lets Dance"

  • Futuristfilm drew the genre of "Family Film". "The Fartist" was written by Paul Mackie and Stuart Hazell, Produced by Steve Johnson and Paul Mackie and Directed by Steve Johnson

    Staring Kirsty Strain (Outlander; Dirty Water), Atta Yaqub (Wild Rose) and Kyle McGuinness, the film screened at the Glasgow Film Theatre on Thursday 24th October 2024. The film has now been submitted to numerous film festivals throughout the UK.
